1st Shopping Trip to Publix!

I made my first shopping trip to Publix today! I've been hearing on all the coupon boards what great deals you can get with advertised specials and coupons so I decided to try it out!

These are the basics I learned:

1) They accept competitors coupons, such as from other grocery stores like Winn-Dixie

2) They double coupons up to 50¢ so if you have a coupon for 50¢ it becomes $1.00, coupon for 30¢ becomes 60¢, ect

3) With the Buy 1 Get 1 Free (B1G1F) deals you don't have to buy 2, you can get the sale price (half price) on the one item. If you do but 2 items, you can use 2 coupons!

4) You can use a Publix coupon with a Manufactures coupon as well

So last night I formed a game plan by looking at the online ad for my store, writing down the deals I wanted, and then checking to see what coupons I had to go with them. I then confirmed with Mr. B that the deals I wanted would be cheaper at Publix than at the commissary.

I ended up spending $63.13 with tax (tax $5.39) and saved $74.82!!! That's more than what I paid! And I could've gotten even better deals if I'd had more coupons, since we're just back to the States I need to get my stash going again.

Here is a breakdown of my deals because I'm bored :D

Publix Fat Free Sour Cream 2 for $1.45

Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 for $6.49 - 75¢ coup & 45¢ coup doubled so 90¢ making it $4.48 for 2!

Banquet Brown N Serve Sausages 2 for $1.89

Publix Yogurt 20 for $9 (normally 10 for $5.50)

Kraft Macaroni N Cheese 50¢ each I got 4 for $2

Kraft Shredded Cheese 8 oz 2 for $5

Lenders Bagels 2 for $2.09

Organic Apples 4 Pkgs for $9.96 (Not a necessity but a nice treat)

Philly Soft Pretzels 2 Pkgs for 2.99

Tombstone Pizza on sale for $2.99

Post Honey Bunches of Oats 2 for $3.89 (Boo's favorite!)

Juicy Juice Apple Juice 2 for 3.49 - $1 coupon so $2.49 for 2!

Thomas English Muffins 2 pkgs for 2.99

Publix cream cheese $1.79 (not on list/planned but needed after bagel/muffin deals)

Lysol All Purpose Spray Cleaner 2 for $2.69 - 50¢ coupon doubled so $1.69 for 2!

Lysol All Purpose Spray Cleaner 2 for $2.69 for Bubby's class (wish I would've had another coupon!)

Tangerines I got two 3 lbs pks for $4.00

Coco Puffs, Golden Grahams, & Cinn Toast Crunch on sale for $1.99 each, so $5.97 - $1 coupon totaling $4.97 for 3 boxes (makes them $1.65 each)

Salad Mix on sale for $2 used $1 coupon making it $1

I also used a Winn-Dixie coupon for $10 off $50
