Japanese Salmon Fest
We arrived here at the end of Oct 2005 and in Nov 2005 we decided to jump right into our first cultural experience. We headed out to the local Salmon Fest. It is where you get in a man-made pond and catch large Salmon....with your hands! It was hysterical watching Mr. B and Boo try to catch these fish! Boo's was so strong he couldn't even pick it up himself, held onto the tail until Mr. B helped him get up onto the side of the pond...where he then struggled to keep the fish from jumping back into the pond! Boo was 8 years old at the time. After you catch them there is a booth were Japanese ladies clean them for you. And as you can tell from the pictures it was NOT a warm day here in Japan. It was a great cultural experience though!

It's amazing to see how much the boys have changed from then to now.
Wow...impressive!
