Children's Botanical Garden In Hachinohe

The Children's Botanical Garden in Hachinohe is a neat little (or rather big) park to spend the day at.  It has many things to look at from Statues to vehicles (fire truck, helicopter, ect).  It also has an awesome view from the lookout tower.   There are a few rides, a pond, flowers, a fountain and a small pet 'zoo' which consists of a chipmunk, goats, and some ducks.  There are also horse rides and a spot to see snow monkeys.  As long as the weather is not too hot it's a great place to hang out all day with a picnic lunch.  There are also these crazy animal looking ride things that I have never seen before.  They are free standing and after putting in 100 Yen (almost $1 US) the kids can ride them around the area by 'steering' them.  (See pics!)  One of the other neat things I've noticed about Japan parks is that there is usually a slide built into the stairs of long stairways....see pic of the Bea using one below.

Boo & Bubby riding the Panda...Weird looking huh!?

We loved this place too. I have to admit, I used the stair slide myself just to test if it's safe. Oh ok fine, because I'm a big kid too.
