The Cuckoo's Around Us...
It never fails to amaze me at how many cuckoo's live around us in this world...You know all those people who are a few bricks short, missing a few marbles, ect. Well tonight I was lucky enough to run into one of those, as well as many other people.
I had to return a Redbox movie (you know the $1 movies from the big red box for 1 nite) and when I drove up I was not excited to see I would be the 5th person in line. Why you ask? Only because it was already after 6 pm and I needed to feed the kids, not to mention it was in the 20's and the box is OUTSIDE Walgreens. So I park and leave the car on with the kids in it because I'm literally standing right next to it, and join the line.
As we're all waiting our turn it becomes painfully obvious as we're all FREEZING that the cukoo woman at the head of the line using the Redbox is going to make it a painfully looooong wait. The guy behind her kept looking at those of us behind him and rolling his eyes, I was laughing so hard I literally had tears in my eyes. 8 minutes in and she's STILL not done, the poor guy is shaking his head back and forth and I'm sure wishing (as was I) that he'd gone to the Walmart one inside! Finally after 10 grueling minutes and the line with now 9 people the cukoo get's her ONE movie. You gotta be kidding me! Have you ever heard of online rental reservations lady? For crying out loud! It was COLD out there!! Then as she drives off she looks over and gives us all a big smile like she just accomplished the most amazing feat in her life, renting a Redbox movie!
And I only wanted to return one and not even rent one! Then as we slowly creep forward the couple in front of me takes a good 3-4 minutes, I mean seriously pick a stinking movie, it's not rocket science! At this point I'm thinking it would've been smarter to just pay the extra $1 and keep the movie another night.
As I finally step forward and return my movie with a sigh and start to walk away the guy behind me starts laughing because he realizes that I endured that crazy, freezing, insane line JUST to return a movie!
So the guy in the orange sweatshirt provided me a much needed a laugh and turned the cukoo encounter into something to laugh about, now hopefully I won't have to run into another cukoo for quite awhile ;)
