Another Year Older

Me with Mac
Me with the kiddos

Another year older, another year past, another year of experiances.  The big 2-9 this year and yet somehow I feel MUCH older, and yet have so much more to learn.

I wanted to reflect on what the past year has held for me and this is what I've come up with:

March 2008 A year ago I was living in Misawa, Japan loving the experiance, wondering where our next assignment would take us.

April 2008 Dad & Val traveled across the oceans to visit us in Japan, it was a great experiance for all.  We found out a our options were the least 2 we wanted Canon AFB and Maxwell-Gunter AFB.  It was the guys (Bill, Ken, & Rusty) last glass float hunting trip together.

May 2008  Despite putting Canon first on our list, we found out we would return to Maxwell-Gunter AFB, God obviously had plans for us there.  We said a very sad good-bye to our friends, The Wolffs.  We pet sat for a Westie named Luke and fell in love with Westies.  Aubrie turned 5!

June 2008 Started going to Calvery Baptist church

July 2008 Boo was baptized

Aug 2008 We participated in our church's youth rally and hosted 2 Japanese college students at our home for the weekend, it was a great experiance!

September 2008 We packed out our household goods and shipped them off to Alabama

October 2008 We said a very sad good-bye to Misawa, Japan and our journey to the US started!  We stopped off in Idaho, Virginia, and West Virginia enroute to Alabama, we finally got here after 20 days of travel.  Damon's first day of school was eventful as Bill, Boo, & Father in law were yards away from a shooting at the school!  Literally 9 days after arriving in AL Boo badly cut his fingers carving a pumpkin.  I received my diploma from LU for a BS in Psychology!

November 2008  Boo had surgery on his fingers to repair tendon and nerve damage.  Three months of weekly Occupational theraphy started.  Caleb turned 8!  We moved into our rental house and out of Billeting.  My sister and neice came down to stay with us.

December 2008  Damon turned 12, we celebrated the hoildays yet again in AL.

January 2009  I started Grad school pursing a degree from LU a MA in Human Services: Family & Marriage Counseling.  Our good friend, Ken, came down to AL for class and we got to spend time with him

Febuary 2009 My sister and niece headed back to Idaho.  Damon graduated from occupational therapy.  We decided to get the kids a Westie, Mac.

March 2009  Bill injured knee, requiring surgery and I learned it takes a lot to slow him down.  Despite being injured he still hobbled around the house to do laundry, and make dinner with his computer chair leg.  I have the BEST husband and wouldn't be able to go to school without his support!

So that pretty much sums up the past year...with lots missing but most of the majors included.  And it already looks like this next year is off to a wild start!
