Photography - Open Shade

For this assignment I was to use open shade to photograph a person.  During this assignment I've found how WONDERFUL open shade is!!  I found that I had a lot of 'misconceptions' about lighting and photography so this was much needed info for my brain :)

Even now almost a year later (this were taken in Oct of last year) I can see several things I would change BUT I met the requirements and passed the unit so that is what mattered then :)

If I did these again (and I just might) I'd make sure there was no visible distinction between the shadow line and the sun in the background.  I'd also adjust my settings to allow more natural light in the photo, all in all it was a great learning experiance, and yes I'm highly critical of my photos but hopefully that only makes me better as I move along with this journey :)
