TIRED!

I'm so TIRED, I know I haven't blogged lately but truthfully with yet another incident I just haven't had the energy.  This past Wednesday, Mr. B, injured his knee during work PT (exercise as a work group).  I received a call at 7:15 am, while I was in the shower, to meet him at the hospital.  From there the day just went from injury to will this day ever end?!  Mr. B was unable to even straighten his leg at all!  After seeing the base Dr. we got a referral to see a Civilian Ortho Dr. but not until 1 pm.  We drive home and as we're just about to exit the interstate a rock flies up and breaks the windshield!  Imagine that right?  So we get home and just as we're getting ready to walk out the door to get Mr. B to his Dr appt 30 mins away in another city, the phone rings.  I answer it and am told I need to come get Bea from school because she can't stop coughing.  Your kidding me right?  Nope!  So we rush over there and great Bea and Bubby so I don't have to drop off Mr. B and turn right back around to pick him up and head to the Dr. appt.  80 mph on the freeway got us there with less than a minute to spare.  The kids and I then proceeded to wait in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours!  Thankfully the kids were good, but it was exhausting trying to entertain them.  Then we head to pick Boo up from school.  We get home and I'm trying to make dinner and WHAM Tornado Warning and we're throwing the kids with blankets & pillows in the closet.  This goes on for about 45 minutes.  Afterwards we eat and get the kids to bed.  I call it a night and crawl into my bed at 8:30 pm to watch TV and relax.  I had just dozed off around 10 pm when the sirens and our weather radio goes off at 10:19 pm for yet another Tornado Warning!  So I run upstairs and single handily gather all the kids and rush them downstairs to the closet, as Mr. B (aka Hop-A-Long) can't maneuver the stairs with his crutches.  So this goes on until 11 pm.  Finally Tornado warning is over yet we were still under Severe Thunderstorm warning which could cause tornadoes.  We decide just to haul the futon mattress down to our bedroom floor, which was fun managing the heavy thing on the stairs by myself!  As we're laying in bed with the kids all tucked in the room Bea starts coughing like crazy.  I get out of bed to get her cough meds and the vaporizer, she finally dozed off around 12:30 am and I around 1 am...I was beginning to wonder if the day would ever end!

He will be having surgery March 2nd, so until then he's home trying to make use of his immobility by studying.

So as you can see I have a very valid reason for being tired, managing 3 kids, a new puppy, and a less than mobile husband, all the while trying to squeeze in time and motivation to get my Graduate class work done.....ugh!  I know that God will sustain me through this, and I pray that things will finally take a turn for the better as some point during our time here in AL...did I mention that I NEVER want to live in AL again?!?! ;)

I'll try to blog more but if not you'll know why....it's hard to be motivated with a thousand things to get done and only 1440 minutes in each day!

Bea in a Tree

While waiting for the parade to start on Sat. Bea kept herself entertained by playing in a tree.  I warned Mr. B that if she fell out and need a trip to the ER he would be the one to take her since he was encouraging her.  And with our luck lately you never know when the nextn visit will be required.  Thankfully she wasn't up high and there were no mishaps.  Here are some pics of Bea in a Tree:

We went to a parade in a nearby town Prattville, AL and I got some pictures of the historic Old Cotton Mill in downtown.  It was built by Daniel Pratt.  Check link for more history info.

The Road Less Traveled

While many roads in Iceland seem like the road less traveled I guess that is what makes theexperience all the more rewarding.  Here is an example of the roads we often traveled on and the scenery around them.

Typical Icelandic sightseeing road
Hillside
LOTS of lava rocks
Rock pile
Horses near the water

Pier Fishing in Iceland

One thing the guys liked to do in Iceland was head down to a local pier in Keflavik and go fishing.  They came home with some pretty ugly fish!  All they had to do was bait the hook, drop it in the water, and in no time there would be a fish on the end.  Here are some pics of their first trip to the pier in May 2004 (Boo was 8)

I'm Back! From a Blog Break!

I decided to take the weekend off from the blog and most of the internet...shocking I know!  Yesterday I literally was only on the computer after church to do my classwork, then I was off for the rest of they day watching movies while Mr. B watched the superbowl.  It was a nice break!  Starting this week off with some iPhotos :)

Us being silly, Bea loves PhotoBooth on the iMac, she laughs hysterically looking at the pics!
