Norway

Shortly after arriving in Iceland Mr. B was fortunate enough to get to take a little trip (TDY) to Norway.  Here are the pics he took from the plane...looks a little too cold for me!  Enjoy!

Barnafoss or Children's Falls

Barafoss aka The Children's Falls was an interesting site.  It's a neat waterfall that also has water along the sides that pours from the lava rocks.  It also has a tragic story attached to it which is off the Baranfoss sign below:

"The following story accounts for Barnafoss (Children's waterfall) and for the disappearance of the stone arch that used to bridge the river.  One Christmas day the household at Hraunas went to attend mass, with the exception of two children who were to stay at home.  When the people returned, the two children had vanished but their tracks led to the river.  The children had fallen off the stone arch and drowned.   The mother had the arch destroyed to prevent the reoccurrence of such a tragedy."

Neck Cracked And Feeling Good!

chiropractor Pictures, Images and Photos

Well I finally bit the bullet today and headed to the Chiropractor.  Don't get me wrong I would've headed much earlier if my stinking insurance would've paid for it...but no military dependants are not considered 'worthy' enough to get chiropractic services paid for.  So after having neck pain and periods of the back of my neck going numb since Sept. 2008 I finally decided it was time to go.  With my starting my Graduate classes and reading/being on the computer a lot was causing it to flair up and be very uncomfortable to say the least.

Thankfully I found a great Christian chiropractor who actually has decent rates for those of us who don't have insurance coverage, Praise God!  And boy was this session so much LESS intense than the Japanese chiropractor that had a go at me.  I mean that guy literally threw his whole body into the process...it was insane!  Needless to say today's visit was very comfortable and my neck is starting to feel much better!  It's on the road to recovery I think, we'll see how it feels after 2 more visits this week....

Boiling Mud Pits!

Have you ever seen mud so hot that it boils?!  Neither had we until we moved to Iceland, that was one of the most amazing sites!  I tried to take pictures but with it being a chilly day and hot mud creates for a lot of steam!  Literally these mud pits were so hot the mud was boiling like water!  I didn't know such a thing was even possible!

All the steam surrounding the area

Boo Final Hand Update

We're 1 week away from recovery, which will be 12 wks post-surgery!  We got some exciting news from the Dr. and OT therapist, they are both surprised at how well Boo's recovery has moved along and the progress he has made in such little time.  Best of all he's not 'supposed' to be able to move the tip of his pinky finger (since the tendon was severed and the Dr. was unable to repair it) but he IS able to move it!  Praise God!  He does still have trouble fully closing it into a fist but they seem to think it'll get better as he continues to exercise and use the muscles. They have also really straightened out since he's been working hard to get it done so he can be done with therapy every week.  Boo is so ready to be able to fully participate in PE at school, I'm sure it's hard to sit out when you feel normal.  We just don't want the tendons to snap and have surgery again so we're mandating waiting the full 12 wks...which will be Jan 30th!

Closed hand, he shouldn't be able to bend the little finger like that...

Standing On The Edge of Iceland

One of the most beautiful places was literally standing on a small cliff overlooking the ocean, literally standing on the edge of Iceland.  I really wish I had my nice camera back then!  The quality of some of these pics could've been soo much better!

Sunset over the ocean
Picture of the edge of Iceland, see the quality isn't that great
One of my most favorite pics of Mr. B and I, taken by my friend Y
