Rainbow Cupcakes

Bea & I made some Rainbow Cupcakes today for her to take to class tomorrow.  It was fun but did require a bit of trial & error.

Yummy!

Batters all ready to go

Bea had a great time helping

First batch of cupcakes, directions were to spread the layers out with a spoon which was tricky and took a good bit of time

For the next round we just dropped the batter in and then left it, MUCH easier and it still looked great when baked...I actually liked it better!

They are yummy, even without the frosting...so Bea decided she wants to take them to school minus the frosting!  Wahoo, less work for me and I'm sure the teacher will be happy about the lack of frosting ;)

Umbrella At The Park

Happy Mother's Day!

Bea & I walked over to the park across the street after church today.  I wanted to take some pics with my 50mm lens, I've been using it for my newborn shoots but haven't really used it other than that yet.  We took our Japanese umbrella for a prop.  The best thing about taking pics of Bea is that she always had crazy poses and lots of ideas ;)

We had fun and then she ran off to play with her friends...go figure...LOL!

Teacher's Appreciation Gift

Teacher's Appreciation Week is upon us again, and I always have the hardest time deciding what to do!  While I did scour Pinterest for ideas I happened upon this idea in a local shop and decided to take the idea and run with it and make it my own :)  It was especially hard this year because I like to do the same gift for all the teachers and we had to women teachers and 1 male, so all the cutsy girl stuff was just not gonna work, LOL!

I started with 3 jars from Walmart (one for each teacher).  Then I headed to the candy isle where I grabbed the double bubble, one package fit nicely in each jar.

Then I made the tags Thanks for 'Chew'sing MES with my Silhouette Studio and printed & cut them out. Then I cut some bigger circles with my circle cutter that I scored at Target on clearance and used some scalloped edged scissors to go around the edges.

I used the Silhouette to cut out each teacher's initial in vinyl and stuck it on the jar.  Punched a hole in each tag and tied it on with some twine.

And presto a cute teacher's gift for right around $5!

Sticky Buns & Punch

Remember when I scored my punch bowl set awhile back?  And my clearance bundt cake pan?  Well I finally put them to good use and tested them out!  The kids were happy to be taste tester's for me :)

I made a Strawberry Pineapple Cooler punch that I found via Pinterest, what did we do before Pinterest?!  It could've used some more strawberries floating around BUT apparently my little strawberry lover had already spotted them in the fridge and this was what I found remaining, LOL!

It was quite tasty although I did have to make a special trip out to the wild world of Walmart since the commissary did not carry one of the ingredients.  Since that trip I've learned of an easier and easily accessed supplies from the commissary that I'll be trying for next time.

Then when I seen this sticky bun ring on Pinterest, I almost jumped for joy because I actually had the bundt cake pan to make it in!  It was SO easy to make, Bea helped me but she could've easily done it herself.  We'll be having this again soon!

Look at all that gooey sticky goodness!

And 5 minutes later this was all that remained....
